Quercus Communities are a new CIC that are offering an all inclusive care farm service based within a fully working farm.

Care farming is the provision of care combined with meaningful work, it can also be called ecotherapy. It is carried out on farms, woodlands and in market gardens with those who are often most vulnerable and excluded by society. It is an innovation in health and social care that provides an excellent opportunity for participants to reconnect with themselves, nature, each other and worthwhile work. Many participants on care farms experience improvements to their physical, mental and spiritual health and well-being. Participants connect with a healthy daily structure and meaningful work in a natural environment gaining social, educational and training benefits.

Primetime

Primetime is a weekly activity session for the over 50's. It includes a weekly organised activity (we've done everything from Line dancing to croquet!), access to Expressions Gym (an induction is needed but anyone interested can call and book), Aquafit class, badminton and swimming. We finish off with tea, coffee and biscuits.

The sessions run on Mondays from 2.00pm to 5.00pm and cost £3.70 per session for all of the above. Participants don't need to book - you can just turn up, so it's worth coming and giving it a go!

Keyworth Badminton Group

This is an informal group that meets each week to play badminton. Courts are booked throughout the year and are available each week for people to turn up and play. The lower age limit for players is 16; there is no upper limit. No membership fee; quarterly subscription to cover the cost of the courts.

Meetings are held every Tuesday in the sports hall of the Keyworth Leisure Centre from 8.00pm to 10.00pm .

Keyworth Meadow Nature Reserve

The reserve is 1.6 hectares of old pasture adjacent to Fairham Brook near Keyworth.

Volunteers are welcome to join the team of workers whose principal tasks are scrub clearance, maintenance of boundary features etc.

Work is undertaken on Sunday mornings November to March. Helpers may come as often or as infrequently as they wish but are always needed.

The Ramblers' Association - Nottinghamshire Area - Rushcliffe Ramblers

An active walking group for all ages and abilities. Longer walks are held almost every Sunday and there are shorter walks with a pub lunch mid-week. During the summer there are evening walks. The length of walks varies from 4 to 12 miles and terrain can vary.
