Central Nottinghamshire Association for Mental Health - Sunday Lunch Club

The Sunday Lunch club is held at Concord House every Sunday between 11.00am and 2.00pm.

A charge of £5.00 is made for a substantial meal plus beverages.

Application forms can be obtained from Concord House.

Application for membership of the Sunday Lunch Club should be made by, or on behalf of, the individual and must include the recommendation of a professional person (i.e. a doctor, nurse, social worker etc.).

A person will be eligible for membership if he/she meets either of the following criteria:

is receiving or has received help because of any kind of mental health difficulty
is a current service user

Ruddington Thursday Lunch Club

This is a lunch club set up specifically for elderly people in the village of Ruddington who have difficulty cooking their own meals. This is a fairly small group and can only cater for small numbers due to there only being a few volunteers/helpers. Meetings are every Thursday from 12pm-1.30pm. All Hallows Lunch Club

Provides a meal for older or lonely people in a happy and relaxed atmosphere.

We meet on Wednesdays from 12.15pm to 1.45pm, and the charge is currently £5.00.

We have some volunteer drivers who help to get those who are too frail to the club.

Retford Resource Centre for Older People

Open every Thursday from 10am to 3pm.  Serving refreshments throughout the day.  Home cooked meals are available from 12noon to 1pm.  Newspapers and magazines are available.

Advice given on services available for older people in the Retford area.  We also have a craft group offering a range of craft activities from 10am.  Seated exercise fortnightly.

Pond Hills Lane Arnold Lunch Club

Volunteers set up the lunch club for people arriving from 09.30am on Mondays only.

We have a social activity in the morning followed by lunch, and we finish around 1.45pm.

Clients use a mixture of Social Services Transport, Volunteer Drivers from Gedling CVS or make their own way to the centre.

We are a sociable group who like to talk or play bingo, etc., and we do have occasional talks. We have introduced chair-based exercise activity fortnightly.

  • Wednesdays - Coffee morning, from 10.30am in the communal lounge. A cup of coffee or tea and a biscuit is 30p.
  • Wednesday 1.30pm September - March film shows on big screen.  £2.00 including tea and ice cream
  • Thursdays - Bingo from 2.00pm.

The Salvation Army - Notintone Luncheon Club

The Luncheon Club offers a reasonably priced, nutritious meal for persons over 50, especially those on their own. Meals must be pre-booked but the main course menu is available in advance. A Diabetic alternative for pudding is always available.
